Cambridge English Assessment certification

 Cambridge English Assessment is a certification body for British English and is accredited by the Ministry of Education.
The examinations, which are internationally recognised, refer to the CEF (Common European Framework) and are aimed at learning and assessing proficiency with the English language.

Cambridge English certifications, also issued by us in Naples, attest to general language skills or in specific areas and are obtained following exams such as:

  • starters;
  • movers;
  • flyers;
  • KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE.

Our Cambridge courses in Naples allow you to perfect the four language skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing.
The certification obtained can be used both at university, where it allows you to obtain credits, and at work because it represents a further qualification in job applications.

Characteristics of Cambridge courses:
  • period: from October to June;
  • objective: to sit Cambridge Assessment English exams.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How and when can I check my examination results?

    By registering on Cambridge Results Online you will be able to view your exam results and will be notified by email as soon as they are published. You do not need to wait until you have taken the exam to register, you can do so at any time once you have received Confirmation of Entry from your Examination Centre (St. Peter's IT888)

    You will need to use the ID number and secret number on your Confirmation of Entry to register on the Results Online site.

    The results of examinations conducted on paper are generally published between four and six weeks after the examination day. Results of computer-based examinations, instead, are available approximately two weeks after the examination date. You will find on your Confirmation of Entry the date by which the results are available on Results Online.

    You can find detailed instructions on how to register on Results Online here.

  • How long does it take for the results of the examination to become available?

    The estimated timeframe for publishing the results is:

    • Approximately five weeks for paper-based examinations
    • Approximately two weeks for computer-based examinations

    By registering on the Results Online site, you will be able to download your Statement of Results (details of the scores obtained in each examination paper). To register you will need your personal ID Number and Secret Number, which are provided to you by the Authorised Examination Centre via the Confirmation of Entry (bottom left-hand box).

    The official certificate, printed on headed paper and recognisable by the anti-counterfeiting marks, is sent to your Examination Centre about four weeks after the results have been published.

    Once the certificates have arrived, all candidates will be informed and will be able to pick up the certificate from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. at our centre in Via Vittoria Colonna 14 - Naples.

    Certificates may NOT be scanned and sent by email.

  • I failed the examination but obtained a lower level certificate/ I passed the examination but obtained a higher level certificate: what does this mean?

    Candidates who fail an examination but score sufficiently well to demonstrate language proficiency at the next lower level will receive a certificate attesting to their language proficiency at that level: for example, a candidate who takes a B2 First examination and fails it but scores between 140 and 159 will receive a B1 certificate. This does not mean that the document in his or her possession is equivalent to the B1 Preliminary certificate as it is not true that that candidate has actually passed a Preliminary examination. The level certificate issued in these cases may still be accepted by universities and other institutions, but since all institutions decide independently on the criteria for recognising certificates, we invite candidates to check directly with the institution concerned.

    Similarly, a candidate who passes an examination but scores so high that he or she is assimilated to a higher level will receive a certificate indicating the higher level he or she has achieved. For example, a candidate who takes a B2 First examination and passes it with a score between 180 and 190 will receive a Cambridge First certificate indicating language proficiency at the C1 level, but this will not mean that they have obtained a C1 Advanced certificate.

  • I cannot attend the exam: can I get a refund?

    The possibility of a partial discount on the registration fee at the next examination date is given only to candidates who did not attend the examination for health reasons, and can prove this with a valid medical certificate, or in serious cases such as family bereavement. In any case, it is NOT possible to transfer your registration to another exam date: if you are absent for reasons other than those listed above, you will lose the entire fee paid for the exam.

  • Do certificates have an expiry date?

    NO. Cambridge English certificates do not expire. The result and the Cambridge English certificate have no validity limit*. They attest that on a certain date the candidate has demonstrated language skills of a certain level. However, as is well known, constant practice of the acquired language skills is necessary to maintain the levels achieved. Individual institutions (e.g. universities, employers, professional organisations and government bodies) may decide whether or not to accept a certificate that has been obtained more than two years previously. We advise candidates to contact the institution of their interest to check the criteria for recognition of certifications.

  • For state, state-run and public schools: How can I become a Cambridge English Preparation Centre?

    To become a Cambridge English Preparation Centre, all you need to do is follow two simple steps: 1. once you have completed your first exam preparation course, contact an Examination Centre and apply to be registered as a Preparation Centre. From then on, the Examination Centre becomes the main point of contact for the Preparation Centre for all aspects of exam administration. Each time candidates are registered for an examination, remember to contact the Examination Centre and request that the candidates be associated with the Preparation Centre. At the end of each academic year (the academic year begins in August and ends in July of the following year), the Examination Centre, in collaboration with Cambridge English, will award those Preparation Centres that are eligible, with awards such as the use of the dedicated logo and/or the annual personalised certificate. The criteria for awarding these recognitions are set by Cambridge English and may vary from year to year.

  • What is the difference between a standard examination and a "for Schools" version?

    There is a version of some of our examinations called "for Schools" (for A2 Key, B1 Preliminary and B2 First levels), which has the same validity as the standard certification. The difference between a "for Schools" version and a standard version lies solely in the topics covered, which are more suitable for school-age candidates. The certificate obtained by passing a standard or a "for Schools" examination only states the name of the examination and does not specify the version (e.g. if you have taken a "Key for Schools" your certificate will only state "Key", just like the standard version).
